Kristy graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Software Development from the world-renowned institute NIIT, at the age of 14. Shortly after completion of her course, she was offered a position as the primary web developer for a groundbreaking Clinic Management Software by the government-funded NGO, PrimaCare. The software included the ability to record individual patient symptoms to produce a list of possible causes to assist with diagnosis. Her work on this software led to her being later invited to present its technical aspects at the Open Source Healthcare Alliance conference held in the University of California, Los Angeles.
Kristy would go on to join her family in starting TheMalaysian.com - a web development firm that specialises in website development, social media marketing and custom web systems. Her background in Software Development and Entrepreneurial Management has equipped her with both the practical experience and theoretical framework to advise organisations of all sizes - from one-man startups to public-listed companies and Government-linked corporations.
She focuses on using IT and Websites to both market their offerings as well as streamline the day-to-day operations of core departments. From setting up the Online Media Unit for Berjaya University College to developing custom "property application" systems for UDA Holdings Berhad, Kristy has the ability to identify the needs of a company and tailor-make solutions that would meet their requirements and exceed expectations.
Her wealth of experience and passion for teaching, combined with her MBA in Entrepreneurial Management (which she graduated with at the age of 21), has benefited both industry professionals as well as students in various local University Colleges where she has been invited as a guest speaker on the subjects of Social Media, Online Communications, IT and Entrepreneurship.
Kristy's passion for teaching, her technical ability in programming and her effectiveness as a project manager has enabled her to succeed in areas that leverage on these skills. From startup consultancy to social media strategising, Kristy is able to harness her experience and abilities to provide maximum value to clients and conference attendees.
Kristy's formal education includes software development, academic research and entrepreneurial management. This trifecta has allowed her to identify business and marketing opportunities online, research its viability, design the systems and procedures to execute the strategies and analyse the results - ensuring that organisations benefit from a holistic approach to their digital marketing campaigns.
